The three candidates, as published
The CP-3 is the Citycoco-format cargo trike: a 60V platform with three published battery fitments (12Ah, 20Ah, 40Ah), power options at 1500W and 2000W, speeds of 25 and 45 km/h across its pages, a published travel band of 35–110 km, the family's only published loading capacity (200 kg), a 100 kg net weight and a published package size of 1759 × 750 × 700 mm. It is the flexible, lighter option — one chassis, three battery options.
The A31 is the enclosed-cab flagship trike: 2000W, a 72V 58Ah battery, 70–85 km per charge, 6–8 hour charging, a 30T modular controller, an agricultural variant page that adds a 15° hill-start figure and a 3.75-12 front tire. It publishes no loading capacity — the single most important inquiry question for this model — and its battery chemistry is named (lead-acid) on the variant page but not on the detail page.
The A41 is the four-wheel cargo vehicle: a 3000W motor, a 72V 106Ah lithium battery and 25/40 km/h speed configurations published on both of its catalog pages. Its full dimension and range set is published on the mini trucks page — it is the only one of the three whose manufacturer page carries a full dimension set.
Decide on the route, not the brochure
Start with daily distance, honestly measured on the worst route, not the average one. The CP-3 publishes three battery options (12Ah, 20Ah, 40Ah) and a 35–110 km travel band; its source page does not map individual distances to individual options, so no option can be matched to a route length from the published data alone — ask for the per-option distance figures in writing at inquiry. No published figure converts travel distance into work capacity, and load stays a separate question (the CP-3 publishes a loading capacity, 200 kg). The A31 publishes a 70–85 km band. Choose between the two on cab and format (enclosed trike versus scooter-trike) and on the A31's unanswered payload question. The A41 changes the conversation's category anyway: four wheels, published overall dimensions — and a registration class to confirm for your market before ordering.
Then gradients. Published hill data is thin — the A31's variant page claims hill-start at 15°, the A41's two pages publish different grade figures for the same vehicle, which is why neither figure is quoted here — and a loaded trike on a real hill is the easiest place to be disappointed. If your routes have serious grades, make the grade figure, at your load, a written inquiry item for whichever model you shortlist.
The questions the catalog does not answer
- Payload for the A31 and A41. Only the CP-3 publishes loading capacity (200 kg). Do not borrow it across models.
- Bed dimensions for the trikes. The A41 publishes vehicle dimensions; the trikes publish none for their load beds. Measure requirement first, then ask.
- Charging infrastructure. The A31, the A41 and the CP-3 all publish 6–8 hour charging — the family's depot pattern is unusually consistent. Confirm the as-shipped charger matches your depot's supply before the order ships.
- Documents. The CP-3 publishes an EEC certification field; the A31 and A41 pages held in the catalog do not show one. Run the certification routine per model before committing a fleet order.
The two also-rans
Two further cargo listings deserve a line: the A32/A33 lead-acid trikes (72V, 52Ah/58Ah options, 25 km/h published maximum speed in their cargo-family listings), which compete on purchase price where their data is confirmed, and the M3 scooter-trike (12-inch tires, 60–80 km published range) for rider-plus-light-load duty. Both are covered on the cargo tricycles page. And if the real job is mixed freight and passengers, price the passenger family separately rather than compromising a cargo trike.
The short version: CP-3 for flexibility and published payload, A31 for enclosed all-weather trike duty in the 70–85 km band, A41 for documented four-wheel work. Every figure in this guide traces to the model's published page — follow the links, check them, and then put the unanswered questions to us through the inquiry form.
Total cost: where the three really differ
This catalog publishes no running-cost, labour-time or downtime figures for any of the three, so a total-cost comparison cannot be built from published data — what can be compared is the published fields themselves. The CP-3 publishes three battery fitments on one chassis (12Ah, 20Ah, 40Ah). The A31 publishes an enclosed-cab format and a 6–8 hour charging time. The A41 publishes dimensions, range and battery figures on its own page. Put the cost questions your tender actually asks — and the figures your insurer and registration authority require — to each model in writing at inquiry, and treat any figure that comes back as an order term, not a brochure claim.
A five-line decision summary
- CP-3 on one chassis: three battery options (12Ah, 20Ah, 40Ah), published travel band 35–110 km.
- Per-option distance figures are not published — request them in writing at inquiry, per route.
- All-weather enclosed trike duty, 70–85 km band: A31 — with payload confirmed in writing.
- Documented four-wheel work, tendered fleets: A41.
- Price-led, low-speed, short routes: A32/A33 — with their thin data priced into the decision.
The inquiry that closes the gaps
Every open item in this guide — A31 payload, trike bed dimensions, per-model documents — fits in one inquiry if it is written properly. Send the route profile (daily distance, load, gradients, shifts), the market and its registration category, and the shortlist this guide produced. Ask for the missing figures as order terms, not as brochure answers: a payload confirmed in an order document is a commitment, while the same figure in an email is a claim. And keep the published pages as your baseline — if a reply contradicts the model's own published data (a range beyond the published figure, a capacity the model does not publish), ask which is right before you pay for either. That single habit separates a cargo-trike purchase from a cargo-trike gamble more reliably than any model choice in this guide.
One last framing for the whole guide: the three machines are not three prices of one vehicle. The CP-3 is a scooter that carries, the A31 is a cab that carries, and the A41 is a small truck that happens to be electric. Keep that sentence in front of you during the shortlist — the rest is figures, and the figures are on the pages.
